There is a lip over the door which keeps the seals protected. There is more space than I thought. So far works great! I believe it will be easier to maintain then prior freezer I had.

Works exactly as needed. Got this for a great deal and I couldn't be happier. Needed extra space for frozen foods I get in bulk and this freezer did the trick.
This upright freezer was a perfect addition for my basement. I like that it is able to store everything I need. I also enjoy that it has storage space on its door as well as an easy to use thermostat. Very happy with this unit.
