Provided enough power to make smartphones actually viable for portable listening on good headphones, This was a nice amp while it worked. The jack (output) started to lose a side in a few months of ownership (keep in mind I use headphones with a long heavy cable).
Excellent little amp. I bought to replace my also excellent but a bit too weak E6, and was not disappointed. I love having a physical gain knob over buttons or sliders. However, -1 star because it sometimes refuses to turn on until you reseat the battery.
I've tried this booster, that booster, etc. etc.,I am extremely pleased with the E-11. I played drums in a Rock band in the 80's, so I'm kinda deaf. I wore my new Sony headphones and the E-11 and took my motorcycle on the 405!! I could hear GREAT! and I still heard the Firetruck siren!!
This is a great little amp! I was more than pleasantly surprised after plugging my ATH-M50s into this. I wasn't expecting much improvement due to the headphones low impedance BUT this little amp makes a HUGE difference. It's great with an Ipod Classic and a line out adapter.
I found this unit to be astounding. I paired it with a 7th gen iPod Classic, along with FiiO's own line-out adapter for iPods. The cable included with the unit wasn't quite long enough for what I wanted to do, so I made my own. I attached this unit to the back of the iPod with two pieces of Velcro.
Good quality cable that can not be used with the casing.
Purchased this to increase the volume output whilst using the AUX in my 2006 Range Rover Sport with Harman Kardon, which it does very well indeed as I'm now able to use the same volume level as the other sources such as CD, instead of having to turn the volume significantly higher.
Very nice little headphone amp...works a treat.
Used with an iphone 6 not really that much of an improvement in volume levels from the phone itself, bass boost is reasonable but not great, a bit disappointing really for the price.
I've had the Fiio A3 headphone amp over a year or so now and use it with my Bose QC25's and my Shure SE535 iems. I have to say it's been a year of listening pleasure whatever I've been listening too, this little amp is remarkable with what it can produce, the treble is clean, bass is beautiful and...
