The Focal Clear Mg are very good for neutral sound. They have a smooth and warm sound profile with a flat mid-range, well suited for accurately reproducing vocals and lead instruments. However, they lack a bit of low-bass, and their underemphasized treble range veils and darkens sibilants.

Comfortable fit., Very well-built., Great overall frequency response consistency.
-
-
Underemphasized treble range.

The Focal Clear Mg headphones were the most comfortable headphones I have worn. The microfiber ear pads were a delight, and long listening sessions never bothered me. Some will not like the open-back design, but I preferred it.

+
Stunning to look at. The Chestnut and metal finish is striking and attractive., All cables included, Smooth frequency response, deeper more solid bass than its predecessor, Protective case included, Easy to drive, anything from tube headphone amps to mobile players, Best in class comfort

Nothing really to list here. People who want isolation and don’t want the family hearing the headphones will need to look elsewhere but having an open back has advantages in comfort and soundstage that are hard to resist.

Focal Clear MG has been upgraded with diaphragms in pure magnesium, which turns out to give even better sound.
-
+
Fabulous dynamics and energy, The midrange register is large and focused, and the harmonics are full of detail, Fast and dissolved bass.

Very few.

While the Clear MG proves itself as a worthy advancement of the Clear, there are still some qualities that you can’t beat with the original. The MG holds the superior sense of height and depth, while also sporting a more unique look, but the original Clear still has the more natural response and is...

Delivering a master class in sophistication, luxury, comfort, and warmth, the Focal Clear Mg Headphones are sublime design.

The Focal Clear MG is exactly the open-back you might be looking for if you’re looking to upgrade from the original Clear. There’s definitely a reason to analyze both sound signatures together, but for now, I can tell you that the Clear MG has some of the best depth in Focal’s library, with some...

The Clear MG and Clear MG Pro definitely feel like cousins. They’re not fundamentally different and I think a lot of listeners might love them equally for various reasons. Still, if you’re trying to choose, there’s definitely some key differences. In many ways, these live up to their name.

The Focal Clear MG headphones offer simply fantastic audio quality, and a comfortable design for long periods of listening. And they can even be driven by portable devices, though are at their best with a great hi-fi setup.

Gorgeously rich and realistic sound, Premium build quality, Easy to drive, Very comfortable
-
-
Open-backed has disadvantages, Maybe not totally neutral

The Focal Clear Mg are some of the highest resolution and dynamic headphones we’ve ever heard. These headphones have the ability to magnify details while still being kind to poorly recorded source material.
-
+
Amazing detail and dynamic sound, Gorgeous design and materials, Easy to drive
-
-
Forward presentation, Some creaking from the headband, Expensive

Exceptional headphones with an informative, refined and entertaining sound, coupled to excellent comfort and build Expressive and entertaining presentation Excellent comfort Terrific build and finish Standard cable is just 1.2m long Lots of sound leakage Lack of isolation from noise
Great sound, heavy and uncomfortable. Pressure point at the top of the skull.Supplied cables used a zip cord like construction with a rubbery surface which did not slid easily over clothing and furniture. Cables constantly snagged. For the price of the headphones decent cables should be provided.

Great sounding

Cables are unacceptable.
Not ever having had a pair of very high-end of headphones, there might be better candidates for a review. But as an avid lover of classical, jazz and RKS, St. Motel & Mt. Joy, etc., I can say I’ve never known this level of smooth and accurate detail and timbre before.
Amazing headphone! Beautifully crafted. Very comfortable. Sound is extremely dynamic/punchy - great for EDM and Rock. Signature is warm while not being too recessed in the highs. Resolves extremely well - so much detail! Mids are silky smooth - like maple syrup was drizzled all over
Overall, and outstanding open back headphone. I find the Clear MG to be very comfortable, good clamping force to stay in place and be very comfortable. I would add thought that I'm sitting still while using these. I drive them with a PrimaLuna Evo300 Tube Integrated amplifier ...
An amazing upgrade from my Focal Elear's. I picked up a pair of Focal Clear MG's as an upgrade to my 2019 Focal Elear's. I absolutely loved the Elear, but was looking for something new and hoping the Clear MG's would address some of the things I didn't like about the Elear; specifically more...
I moved up to the Clear MG from HD 660S. The Clears are more dynamic and have and more resolution. Th MG were great with my PS Audio strata headphone jack (a unit that I would compare to a Magni Heresy 3 and have owned both), but they really sang with a slightly warmer tube head amp. Perfect match.
These headphones sound amazing with EQ. The biggest downside is that these really benefit from EQ, and the default tuning isn't to my liking. I highly recommend Oratory 1990 EQ settings, which really bring the Clear Mg from like 7/10 to 10/10 for me.
I've had headphones by Sennheiser, AKG and AudioQuest. I was never happy in the long term with any of them. Comfort, sound, etc just never all came together. I've been very happy with the Aria 948's I purchased from Kevin.
The sound is impeccable whether listening to vinyl or a digital recording.
First thing, I've owned these for a couple months but wanted to give them time for a proper running in. This is probably the most beautiful headphone I've ever seen. Stunning piece of art from Focal. The sound is equally as beautiful, the dynamics are absolutely top notch.
