At $999, the XF 16mm f/1.4 is not an easy buy for many photographers, but it offers ample value to those with the funds to make it happen. We were a bit let down by the lack of edge sharpness at wider apertures, but the image quality elsewhere is so good that it easily makes up for it.

Fast, f/1.4 max aperture, Superior build quality, Weather resistant, Very low distortion, Great value

-
Vignetting, soft edges at wide apertures, Intermittent autofocus errors
Still despite those shortcomings the Fujinon XF 16 mm f/1.4 R WR should be assessed positively. It provides useful images already from the maximum relative aperture, gives you a high resolution level on stopping down and it corrects geometric deformations noticeably better than its rivals; what’s...

too high longitudinal chromatic aberration,, distinct vignetting,, significant coma,, some problems with spherical aberration.
This lens is certainly capable of delivering excellent quality images. When you consider the robust build, weather resistant construction and excellent handling of this lens, the £730 price seems very reasonable indeed.

Very good sharpness in the centre at maximum aperture, Excellent sharpness across the frame when stopped down, Relatively lightweight, Traditional design, Excellent build, Weather resistant

Only fairly good sharpness towards the edges at maximum aperture

My review won't give you information you couldn't find in others, but I still feel the need to share my excitement. All the tech stuff has been explained by others, and better than I could.
I used it in an outdoor shoot of small boats in a harbor and was impressed with the image quality. Even when up close, the angle was wide enough to capture the entire boat. If you're not used to a wide angle lens, then you'll be surprised to learn that you have to get up very close to the subject to...
I am really enjoying the close focusing capabilities with this lens. Once you get your mind wrapped around the possibilities, opportunities to capture amazing images anywhere. Super fun and incredible image quality.
This Fuji prime is one of the best lenses I own, if not the best. It has remarkable clarity and definition. For me this 16 mm is an ideal wide angle landscape lens when the situation requires it. There is minimal if any corner distortion, even wide open. Mounted on the XT-2, it gives a nice balance.
Sharp images. Just don't take pictures with the lens hood on. You'll get a circle in your image
Fast, light and really sharp. A great addition to my Fuji setup.
