The drive performs fine however for PC users be aware that you are going to have to install the drivers, software and make sure your PCIe card is functioning correctly. This is Thunderbolt only.
Ive bought allot of hard drives this one beats them all, with the speed and compact for a large drive it dose the job to backup all my work
It is just two hard drives in raid 0. A better use of the thunderbolt feature would be putting two or more sata ssds in raid 0 or better yet a single fast pcie ssd. This is a gimmick. Usb 3 is fast enough for this. For the most part, this is only for people desperate to use their thunderbolt ports.
Fast and accurate transfers with "Thunderbolt." After sitting dormant of a while it shuts down the drive. This is fine but it takes about 20 seconds to wake up but then a 2Gb file will upload in about 15-20 seconds. I filled up my 4Tb G-Tecnology drive so now with 8 more I have 12Tb.
This is the second one of these drives that have bought, and this newer model is a little quicker than my old one, bought just over a year ago. With the fan at the back, it's quiet under the desk.
Love the G drive. It’s super fast on my Mac. Would recommend.
if I had a apple product like a apple pc Great product will order more
Purchased Dec 2012. Currently July 2017. This product has exceeded my expectations, I don't expect electronic things to really last more than 3 years and this has worked without flaws since day 1. Use a Mac Book Pro with Thunderbolt display. From day 1 it has been plug and play.
The fan does not work from the first day.
Disappointed. Spent a lot on this hard drive in hopes that the quality would match. It failed with no warning and will not mount. The specialists recommend sending it out with a minimum repair cost of $700-1000. The raid system was of no help in retrieving the data either.
