GE Black Slate Over-The-Range 1.9 cu. ft. Microwave - 400 CFM

This GE microhood replaced a previous model. It is more powerful - food gets done quicker. The starting and stopping is more noisy but while running noise is about the same as the previous one. The display is bright white. The previous display was colored making it easier on the eyes.

My old microwave had only one button that was working. This new one has everything I’ll ever need.

Purchased this because it was the smallest above stove unit I could find (height). My house and kitchen was built in 1976 and fitting a microwave is getting harder made the thirty 30" but only because unit was the smallest I could find. Unit has worked well and wife and I are happy with the unit.

We replaced an older GE microwave because we went to stainless appliances. The installation was fairly easy although the bracket was replaced and the top holes were different. This MW is 50 watts larger than our previous one. Makes a big difference.

The best thing about this microwave is the sensor heating! One will never have to guess again what your leftovers should be heated up at. It's excellent!

Replacement microwave fit nicely, however, stats show it as being 1000 watt. Must not be because, popcorn setting leaves far too many kernels un-popped. Old 1000 watt micro popped it all at 2.0 minutes. Not this one. Very disappointed in this kind of performance!

We love the new Microwave, they only thing that is annoying is the Display light is very bright and we couldn't figure out how to dim it, if that is even possible. Could be we were just used to the old microwave that was 15 years old and the display light was just worn.

Works great. However, often we want 15 seconds and we cannot get it. You get automatice settings of 30 second, 1 min, 2 min, and others. Yet, 10-29 seconds we have not yet found how to achieve.

I would prefer the interior would have stayed white as it shows up any mess better when cleaning. The front "glass" is not as clear as the old version. This makes watching your food cook more difficult. It would be nice to know when something is boiling over so we can stop the microwave.

We were not sure if the stainless finish would work for us we have all white appliances, we are very pleased that it blended in so well. Installation went well just follow the instructions. This unit replaced a G.E. that was similar but was having some problems after 18 or so years of reliable use.
