I had to replace my glass cook top after 16 years because one of the front burners was heating up extremely fast. We tried turning the burner down and it would get even hotter. I chose to go with the same product because it lasted 16 years with no problem and I wanted that same experience.
I do love this product. Heats up so incredibly fast that my cooking time has been virtually cut at least by a third. It was relatively easy to install as I had all the electric in-place seeing that my previous stovetop was a GE that was 55 years old and finally "gave out.
Gives added comfort for my vacation home. Easy to use and its controls and functions are precise. Its sleek black look matches well with my other GE appliances
It is beautiful. Looks just like I had hoped it would. Now that I have cooked several meals on it, I can tell you that I am very happy with this cook top. The instructions had me afraid that it was going to be hard to use and not ruin the beautiful finish but I had not need to be afraid.
I have no problems with this cooktop so far. I do however have the same complaint I see over and over, it’s hard to clean especially grease splatters. Streaks hard hard to remove, black shows everything. My old element stainless steel was a lot easier to clean but the drip pans were a pain.
This was a replacement of another GE cook top that I had. The old glass top was easy to keep clean, it seemed more sturdy. This glass cook top's glass is impossible to keep it looking good. It cooks fine but the glass can look spotty when I haven't even used it!!
I read some reviews before I purchased this and the common two complaints were about having to clean it often and then the knobs. Cleaning is cleaning so you just have to stay on top of it. No issues there. I would agree that the knobs could have been made better or of better quality.
I bought this cooktop to replace and older one in a mobile home. the hole in the top of the counter was very close to being to big for the stove, luckily there was a gasket around the inside edge of the counter that allowed the cook top to rest, but if it was not there, I would have had to do some...
Love the look as it fits well with my kitchen design.Upgrade model to the previous cook top that i had. The other model was a GE as well and lasted for 14 years with no issues. The olny reason for replacing was something fell on the cook top and shattered the glass.
Great cooktop- the warning light tells you the exact burner that is hot - helpful feature! It was also very easy to install ourselves.
