GE 1.9 cu. ft. White Over-the-Range Microwave

To me the quality is first rate. The performance is spot on and the features are intuitive to use. Also my unit is very quite and that's including when the vent fan running. Mounting was easy, just follow the plan, but definitely a two person job. This is my second unit in 16 years.

Nervous when 19 year old prior over the range GE microwave failed to get a new unit that would fit and function as well. This unit fits, is more appealing, has a quieter, but more effective vent fan, and more power than the previous unit.

Overall, an excellent product. The fan has several levels from low to turbo - great to vent stove top smells or even just the heat from the stove on a hot day. Haven't tried the self cleaning yet - nice touch.

I've purchased GE microwaves for the past 30 years. They are one of the most reliable on the market with easy features. Recently moved and needed an over-the-range microwave. Had a new GE one installed, and I'm happy with the results. It has all the old features, plus a few new ones.

Bought online so did not actually see the unit before purchase. I was surprised at how "boxy" and dated it looks next to our other newer appliances. It has some good preprogrammed features, but the keypad/menu is cluttered and not intuitive. The print is tiny and hard to read.

Replaced my 12 year old microwave. This one look's great. Better than the old one that was stainless steel. My other appliances are white so this one matches. Tested the exhaust fan to the outside and it has a lot more exhaust than the old one did. Has great features on it for the wife.

I would recommend this product, but must admit that the control panel is harder to use than on my old GE micro. The writing is much smaller and you have to press very hard to get action.

The timer alarm maddeningly keeps chirping until manually silenced (my previous GE microwave had the good sense to stop after 4 chirps). The stovetop light is awful--casts the beam of a dim flashlight, even on the higher setting, and is virtually useless.

So far, have just used it to make popcorn, reheat coffee and food leftovers. It heats well and evenly. I love the enamel interior, very easy to wipe clean. Feels more oven like, and like the fact of less plastic inside. Also like the large resessed glass turn plate inside.
