GE Profile PGP9830SJSS 30 Inch Gas Sealed Burner Cooktop

Replacement for previous GE Profile Gas Downdraft cooktop. They guaranteed same fit, yet somehow the downdraft ducting was different. OK nothing a little metal tape didn't fix.

I like the grills and the lack of drip pans which makes cleaning easier. However, the glass top needs constant cleaning to look it’s best.

I love this guy's attitude and preparedness. I have been looking for a high BTU gas burner. This one might be it. I am willing to pay the price.

After installing cooktop it had a continuous smell of LP gas, Had to have my gas provider out twice until it was discovered that the gas leak was internal to the machine. Called GE and it would take over three weeks before a service tech could look at the top, which was unacceptable.

This cooktop was installed by the builder when our home was being built. Although it looked nice and performed well, within the first year I noticed the glass top around the burners is bubbled and damaged, especially around the pot boiling burner.

Impossible to clean! Even having purchased a cleaning kit specifically for glass top cooktops the surface always looks smudged and dirty. Every little drop of moisture creates very visible spotting. All the nobs, grates and burners have to be removed to clean it and they are hard to replace.

The knobs are plastic and very flimsy for a $1500 cooktop. Hard to install because the exhaust duct is rectangular and they force you to buy an adapter for round duct (even say so in the manual).
