and the site’s Editor’s Choice award. In nearly seven years of reviewing products, this flash is the biggest no brainer out there for every Sony photographer and you should all pick one up.
I use this flash for macro photography (with a soft box to minimize hard reflections) on a Sony mirrorless camera (Nex 6) and I am very satified. It can be moved in any direction, witht he help of a rail that lifts it up fromthe camera and has a slight angle forward I can point the flash at the area...
Having just received it My first use was memorial day 10:30pm in the aftermath of a Tornado that destroyed most of our neighborhood. Instructions/menus are as complicated as the sony itself but once figured out it has been a very good unit with plenty of power.
The Godox TT685S is a no-brainer purchase compared to other high-priced brand flashes. So far, I've only used mine to learn about different techniques, but this baby hasn't let me down. It is constructed solidly and offers every feature I am looking for.
OMG, I love using the Godox TT685S flash and XPro-S controller with my Sony A6500 and A99. Actually I purchased three TT686S units along with the Godox XPro-S controller. I can set the three flash units as TTL or Manual and individually control them (groups and channels) with the XPro-S mounted in...
Pretty much everything you read about this flash is true. Good value and works very well, especially for the money. One thing that really bothers me though, is the flash head pivots up and down, but doesn't turn side to side. This makes vertical shots difficult to take.
My first flash:Tested well at home but became stuck the first day I used it on vacation. I also had problems where the mode would not change while connected to a powered camera. The second day, it was completely stuck on the camera and grinding when trying to wiggle it free.
I am new to flash so I dont know if I have a super helpful review, but I got this with the X1T-S remote. I was using the Lumopro LP180 before and the radio transmitter was not compatible with this flash. Had I known about this one beforehand, I wouldve gone with these over the Lumopro system.
I used these on stands with the xpros on my a7rii. Although there is an advertised quick recycle rate, I had to wait 1 minute or else the flashes wouldnt go off. Otherwise everything is great.
