The Google NEST is a very good product. It is easy to install and easy to set up. The phone app works very well. I am a little disappointed that the Nest does not interact with Amazon Alexa anymore. Lastly, the battery regularly drains within a two or three month period of use.

The thermostat is fantastic once you get it up and running. Install directions are seriously lacking, though. It produced and error message with a code, yet when we looked up the code in troubleshooting, no such code existed. We eventually had to YouTube.

I was able to lower my cooling costs this summer by installing this, which was very easy to do. It knows when I am not home, so raises the temperature setting in the house for when it doesn't need to be cooling it.

Nest is not compatible with Apple HomeKit and Google has not done anything to integrate it with Siri. Go read the reviews on Consumer Reports, other smart thermostats provide significantly greater energy savings.Nest has not done anything innovative since they were bought by Alphabet.

It has an app you need to download onto your smartphone to walk through installation. This was useful, but basic in description. We ended up looking up more how-to videos on YouTube to understand what all our wires were (we had more wires than what the Google Nest needed).

I bought two of these a few weeks back and replaced the old digital thermostats in my house. This is a really well-designed product and installation was obviously at the forefront of their design objectives. It was much easier to install than I feared it would be great.

The Nest was easy to connect and program. I don't need to be giving Google more info about my family, so I've turned off the learning algorithms and have it set just to programmed cycles and manual controls.

I was able to install the Nest very quickly, using the provided cover plate as well because I was replacing a rectangular programmable thermostat. It connected easily to my Alexa system and Ive been able to control it by voice or through my phone.

- Save yourself the frustration and money, just get a simple wireless thermostat for much cheaper or the Ecobee ones that come with multiple remote sensors, which is seems to be more useful than this at a similar price
