The Envy 4500 has missing features and limitations that would have made it a well-rounded photo MFP, but given that it can be found for less than the retail price, it’s unreasonable to expect it to offer the same degree of functionality as a more expensive MFP.
Good speed performance, Wireless connectivity in addition to USB, Duplexer is standard
Small capacity paper tray, Does not use individual color cartridges, Photo-quality printing can be expensive
For under $100, you can get HP's Envy 4500 all-in-one printer, able to print and scan your photos and documents wirelessly. You have a few options when getting your material to the printer, either email what you need printed through HP's e-Print service or use Google's Cloud Print service and...
HP's Envy 4500 is an all-in-one printer with good online features that allows you to print from practically anywhere. You can also use apps to print wirelessly from mobile devices.
Small footprint, Good wireless printing features, Simple to use
Noisy, Running costs could mount over time
suppose it had to happen sooner rather than later. With mobile devices, namely smartphones and tablets, being our constant companions giving us access to data and then storing what is important to us, you would expect companies to develop printers capable of supporting mobile printing.
When HP introduced its Envy all-in-ones, they were very much lifestyle printers, designed to look good in living rooms, with their low-profile, automated trays and glass tops. The company has now moved part of the concept to its entry level machines and produced the Envy 4500, still geared towards...
XL cartridges available, Excellent draft print, Low purchase price
Tri-colour cartridge can lead to wastage, Photo image position problem, High page costs
Won't work online and won't work plugged into computer......Occasionally get it to work but doesn't last long....don't have time to work on it!!!
Required to buy contract ink - won't print anyway
I had a HP printer previously and like the fact that they weren't very high-end as far as prices. The one I had still functioned but I needed a printer that was compatible with Apple iPhone and iPad printing.
I purchased the Envy All-In-One a year ago. Once the ink cartridges were empty the trouble started. HP makes you buy HP ink refills which are SO expensive compared to other brands. I'm told it's not legal to require only HP product cartridges but "for the Envy" cartridges only give error messages.
I would suggest to HP that just because you can use java container does not mean you should.
Looks good...works great from display panel.
Printer showed up rattling as I unpacked it. I was able to dislodge three pieces of dark gray broken plastic pieces. These pieces matched no other gray colored plastic I could see (without taking printer apart) so I continued to install. Ironically, printer seems to function fine.
It's a nice looking printer, it's got a small footprint and it will print...when you get down to the finer details is where this printer disappoints. it will print in all black and white mode if you run out of color ink.
Printed possibly 30 sheets and an error code appeared. I googled the problem and followed everyone's instruction on a fix, nothing got rid of the error code. More investigating proved this is common with these printers. It cost me almost $2.00 for each page and still need to purchase a printer!
I have had a great experience with this printer. Great for scanning, easy to use for faxing and copying. I have sent faxes, not able to recieve one yet. Bought this printer approximately one year ago. The ink does not cost alot either. All instructions on the key pad are easy to understand.
Good prices for ink purchases black and color.
Have not been able to receive a fax yet.
This printer is awesome. It scans too.
I love this printer. It tracks your ink levels and will send you refills for a small monthly fee. 100 prints for $4.99 a month
Took 4 hours just to setup printer due to out of date installation instructions and software! HP makes the setup confusing with many expired links, software, and websites. I was asked to sign-up at three different websites, some which redirected after sign-up. Terrible.
