The JBL Authentics 500 is good for music. Its Self-Tuning room correction tool automatically adjusts the speaker's sound based on your room's unique acoustics. With it on, its sound is fairly even and balanced, making it suitable for lots of different music genres.

Graphic EQ., Gets loud.
-
-
Some compression at max volume.
JBL revisits their glorious past and the Authentics 500 has a retro vibe. It's actually a modern, wireless speaker. But how does it sound?
-
+
Big, full-bodied sound with plenty of punch.
-
-
The midrange is flat and the treble is aggressive when you turn up the volume. The app could have been more well thought out.
With big, bold sound to match its big, bold looks, the JBL Authentics 500 is a powerhouse of a wireless speaker that’s sure to win plenty of admirers. Mostly those who crave low-frequency action and aren’t all that fussed about the Dolby Atmos side of its specification.

Large-scale, organised, detailed and informative sound, Compatible with both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, Likeable looks if you like this sort of thing

-
Very specific sonic attitude won’t suit everyone, because..., ...the word ‘wallop’ isn’t automatically a good thing, Dolby Atmos sound is a strictly qualified success
The Authentics 500 is a powerful wireless speaker that can double as a smart home controller with powerful and big sound, but it lacks audio finesse considering its cost.

Loud and powerful, Deep and imposing bass, Supports multi-room and digital assistants

Expensive for the sound fidelity on offer, No battery option
The Authentics 500 isn't perfect; it's a bit on the big side and the slightly haphazard approach towards accessing your own content is a little...

Sounds very good and particularly with Atmos, Well made, Easy to use and quite flexible

No UPnP, Limited inputs, It's a big lad
Huge sound for a high price

Powerful sound with deep bass and sculpted highs, Bluetooth, wired, and Wi-Fi playback, Hands-free Alexa and Google Assistant, Supports multiroom audio

Expensive, Finicky control panel, Bluetooth limited to just the SBC codec
The JBL Authentics 500 provides punchy room-filling sound, with a classy design and plenty of supported apps and features to make it a great buy for audio fans. It’s a little fiddly to set up, and there are some app bugs and issues, but overall you’re getting a fantastic musical experience from the...

High price, Challenging set-up process, Some app issues
The JBL Authentics 500 is amazing it has an aesthetic look with the leather top a really vintage look with all that new technology in it. I used it all over my house, and the sound quality is amazing. i really enjoy how it has the option to adjust the tremble and bass adjusting it to each song.
I listen to music every single day, so having the right speaker is essential to my lifestyle. This speaker is NO JOKE. I've used it for a few days now, hours on end and haven't had the need to turn the volume past the halfway mark, but it's awesome to know it can go well beyond easy listening.
I received this new JBL product and wow. The setup was easy, extremely easy. After I plugged in the Authentics 500, I installed the JBL One app. The sound quality was amazing. The Authentics 500 seemed to have connected to my phone Bluetooth almost immediately.
I like this speaker. The quality is nice and I like that you can adjust the base and treble with the dial or on my phone. Very convenient. I like that it has both Alexa and Google voice assistant. Gives you options. What I didn’t like was that it’s not wireless and it’s kinda heavy to move around.
Wow! This home speaker blew my mind the moment I unboxed the JBL Authentics 500. It definitely has some weight and the size make it feel like a premium product. The metallic bronze finish and pattern on the speaker grill look very retro and fit in really well with the living room.
For starters, I must commend the packaging the speaker arrives in. All arrives in perfect shape, and the unboxing fruited a beautiful and sleek black speaker with gold accents. The speaker has a velvety leather material around the outside, popping golden metal trim and accents, simple knobs on top...
JBL Authentics 500 has truly exceeded my expectations. This speaker is perfect blend modern technoy and classic design, with an exceptional audio experience that enhances my music listening at home.
This speaker is such an excellent addition to our family room. The retro styling blends seemlessly into the background, sitting on the shelf...that is, until it's being used! You cant help but look around to figure out where the vibrant sound is coming from!
Let's start out with the obvious. This speaker isn't small, but despite that, it's not big either. Coming in at slightly bigger than a double air fryer, this speaker packs a punch for its size.
I’ll break this review into look, sound, and tech because if you’re considering this product, I assume you care a lot about all three.Look: This is a statement piece of equipment. It’s a stunning, beautiful, statement piece. It’s cased in a leather like material with “gold” trim.
