Let me start in a bit subjective way. Personally I like Kowa binoculars. They are always solidly made and stylishly designed – holding them in your hands and using them is a pleasure. It is true not only for the high-end Genesis series but also the lower BD series as well.

casing is solid but relatively light and handy at the same time,, very good transmission,, good whiteness rendition,, well-corrected chromatic aberration,, very low astigmatism,, slight coma,, well-corrected distortion,, wide field of view,, good quality of prisms and coatings.

I volunteer at several desert California State Parks and hike their many miles of trails and also visit Death Valley National Park. Having decent binoculars is an essential accessory for many reasons when exploring those locations.

Unbeatable price for quality optics, everything about them is quality and would push "Alpha" binoculars all the way in all departments for a third of the price

Here are some initial thoughts on the Genesis 8 x 33, which I recently purchased. I went out around one of my usual local "circuits" which involves small, reed-fringed lakes, beach and sea, scrubby dunes and a bit of woodland.
