LG's SL10YG is a large soundbar that delivers big, immersive sound and does a mostly wonderful job with both movies and music. But it didn't do a very convincing job with surround and height effects.

The LG SL10YG is a big soundbar that delivers an even bigger sound. Best suited to larger screen sizes, this super-smart speaker has Google Assistant built-in, and supports genuine immersive thanks to upward-firing drivers. Only a lack of eARC and HDR10+ passthrough disappoints.

Big, bold and front-heavy

The sound bar was very easy to set up. It looks awesome and sounds even better. Turning it to surround and on movie setting makes any show you are watching pop. I went from a 5.1 separate speaker surround sound system and I am not disappointed. I world 10/10 recommend.

Digital clarity is excellent. However, I miss the bass that my 15 Pioneer speakers gave me, even though I have the woofer turned to it's highest setting. Then again, the footprint is smaller than having those twin big speakers on stands.

DISCLAIMER: I'm a big fan of LG Electronics -- except for their laundry line.That being said, let me begin that it's a bit sad to see how Google is bundled into this sound bar. In the middle of the night, this machine speaks and reminds me twice every night to sign up for Google.

It took a bit of tinkering to balance the sound but once done the dolby surround is great.One problem is not with the sound bar but I believe inherant in the TV provider Direct TVThat is that not all broadcast are in dolby so you may enjoy it during a movie but when an comercial comes on...

As a person who has owned a discrete and dedicated 5.1 Surround system with a high end Receiver I have never trusted a soundbar, until I gave LG SL10YG a try and a good testing of its capabilities. First of all, the industrial design of this LG soundbar is superb.

Can't say much, haven't installed Nor heard it as yet, when I do, I'll write a review.

Finally, a cinema experience in my den. Dolby atmos rocks on Netflix, Wu Assassins comes alive! Need of app to fully customise soundbar overkill especially as said app has such a poor rating on play store.

Sounds amazing on Dolby Atmos. Has a real cinema feel to it. Would have preferred Alexa to Google Assistant.

Paired with lg c9 tv, changing between on board apps like freesat, YouTube, Netflix, dvd etc the bar selects best mode to give consistent and appropriate sound mode and volume for 5.1, sonos etc. only every once in a while the volume is louder when switching between feeds but not ridiculously loud.
