At first glance, LaCie's new Rugged Thunderbolt drive doesn't look much different from it's predecessor the Rugged USB 3.0 Thunderbolt Series, but the company has made some improvements to this iconic drive.

I purchased this hard drive a few weeks ago as a backup HD.Rugged part is true, hard drive is made tough, very nice piece of hardware. Its speed is subpar to say the least. It is connected to my iMac via Thunderbolt cable and it still is much slower than OWC's Mercury on-the-go Pro connected via...

Well, it took a while to set up. Had some error messages, and other problems with this drive and my Mac Pro. Fortunately it worked out and its copying at gosh....about 600 m/s right this very moment. And its backing up VERY important files. I give this five stars.

Received my LaCie, booted up the computer and plugged it in. I ran the setup program and that was it. It is now my backup drive for my Windows 10 system. I don't think it could have been easier and I doubled my space because my 2TB mobile drive was getting full. I am satisfied and have no cons.

Hi i reccomend this drive to everyone its extremly fast and durable.

I take mostly game-action sports pictures and video for college, high school and middle school teams throughout the school year plus other photo assignments. All are now downloaded from DSLR cameras to the 4TB LaCie external hard drive.
