Yes, £995 is a lot of money to spend on a pocket sized travel zoom – but, on the other hand, compared to what else is on offer from Leica, it’s not such a lot to spend in order to get that coveted red manufacturer’s badge in return.

As an owner of both the Type-109 and Leica Q, I must say that I am quite impressed by the D-Lux 7. Picture quality is remarkable and seems to benefit from the higher pixels over the Type-109, but I am not moving too quickly to sell my Type-109 as I have totally enjoyed it as well.
manages to combine small size, sharp pictures and good handling in one. I prefer to the Panasonic version due to smooth front design and easier to use menu still find the amount the front lens extends when on annoying, but I guess that's the design

This is a really handy pocket camera that is extremely well built and easy to use. Not cheap but it is packed with great functions and most importantly the images are superb.
