Leica Elmarit-M 28mm f/2.8 ASPH Lens

I use one of these because it's tiny and excellent. In the lab, the LEICA SUMMICRON-M 28mm f/2 ASPH can be slightly sharper, but it's also bigger, takes a larger 46mm filter, blocks my viewfinder, and has slightly more distortion.

Leica's new full-frame, M-series wide-angle is a 37mm equivalent when mounted on the M8 digital rangefinder. It's the most compact of all M-series lenses -- small enough, in fact, that with the lenshood removed, it blocks only a little bit of the active finder area.

I have an M6 and at this point I have only been using the less expensive Voightlander glass. On a whim I busted out the credit card and bought this and the 35 (crazy I know). The short summary is I have since sold all my Voigt glass and I couldn't be happier.

i have been using it for less than 1 month, i shoot with an M8 . i use the 35/1.4 asph as well and used the 50/1.4 asph+ the 75/2.5. i like this tiny lense very much as it is sharp ,flare &distorsion free and is very light ( 180 gr) only, it does not block the viewfinder the only thing i miss...
