Manfrotto 504HD Fluid Video Head

I recently got this tripod and havent used it on a job yet so these are really just first impressions. The panning feels a little bit gritty if not on pretty high tension. The tiltis better. The overall build is a get what you pay for situation. It is a good fit for the weight of my Canon C200.

This head is designed very well. It is nice and heavy!! Made with solid parts and is simple to operate. I've used this at a few hockey games on a pair of 535 carbon sticks, and has made the world of difference. Fluid head makes for smooth movement in both pan and tilt plus both can lock easily.

For when you need a substantial, planted, tall tripod, this is a good choice. I wont be thrilled lugging it around for a full day, but I know its not going to flex at all. The head has a lot of adjustment options, and fluid action is very nice.

Bought this for my Sony Z-150. Initially I wanted to know if the RC Pan Bar could be attached to a Benro S8 head because it would be a bit easier on the wallet - it can't go directly without some structural modification that was beyond me.

Really great started fluid head. Honestly the only issue I can find is that it is difficult to put on sliders. You need to purchase a bowl adapter (I got the 325N Manfrotto) which then will add about 6 inches the the height of either the tripod or the slider you are mounting on.

It's a very stable platform for video use but it's heavy. There is a manufacturing fault with the spreader but Wex are replacing this.

I was slightly disappointed with the tripod. It is quite awkward to adjust to height and to drop down after use. The fluid head could do with having a more rigid setting on both pan and tilt.

I was looking for a reasonably lightweight tripod and head for my GH5 rig and after some research this one fitted the bill perfectly. The balance setting is great, and it will even hold my top heavy rig in place (I may attach the monitor directly to the head though).
