I purchased this tripod head to go with theManfrottoElement Big Aluminum Traveler Tripod, It is a perfect fit. The tripod folds up exceptionally well. The tripod comes with a ballhead but I needed a head that can pan and tilt. This head ticks all boxes.
I really wanted to like this head. So much so that I boxed it up to send it back, unboxed it again, and then finally sent it back. I have six other video heads which are mostly much larger, and the idea was to get a small, light head for atop a video monopod. The biggest problem was lack of drag.
Its small, light and smooth but not of a full frame DSLR with a Zoom lens. It should work good on lighter cameras. I also bought a 3/8-16 to 1/4-20 Reducer Bushing but it's no necessary because the tripod comes with one
I bought this to use on two different sliders that I have, and I don't think I could have found a better head. This is small and lightweight, which makes it perfect for any DSLR or the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera (which is what I use).
PL501 compatibility is a workflow related requirement for us. Got this head for applications where light weight is critical and no movement is needed, e.g. on jibs or sliders. Surprised at how small it is - much smaller than the Manfrotto micro heads.
Was looking for an upgrade to my Sunpak 70 tripod head. This head is MUCH smoother and helps reduce jerkiness as I follow the lacrosse ball. The knobs arent really a tension adjustment, they behave more like a lock and unlock, but Im okay with that.
Forget it if you want smooth pan or tilt
Es el segundo que compro para usarlo con en un monopie con una cmara lumix gh4
Does your camera weigh more then 2lbs? Do you value smooth pans and tilts? Do you like tightening the knobs on your fluid head? Well if you do then don't buy this head. Seriously don't, honestly just buy the non-video version, or get the Manfrotto video monopod which is (insert fire emoji here).
I bought two and don't use them anymore. It's not smooth at all. Jerks a lot. I'd rather use ball heads than this thing which I do now.
