Manfrotto MVT502AM Aluminum Telescopic Twin Leg Video Tripod

The tripod is poorly designed. The plastic clamps that hold the legs in place wear out after a couple years of use. There is no easy way to fix them, from what I can tell. It's basically a disposable tripod at this point.

I have the Manfrotto video ball head so this tripod is the perfect match. You have to be careful with opening and closing the legs as those little plastic joints can wear out. But it's light and accurate.

I really disliked this tripod when I first used it at work with a Manfrotto 502HD Pro Video Head (strongly dislike that head). I thought the tripod was flimsy, twisted too much when I was panning, and was just a poor design.

This is my least favorite tripod of any I have ever used. It is very flimsy and when you move it at all it squeaks terribly. The concept is great, but the execution is a failure. Could be so much better. Not what I expect from Manfrotto.

An interesting design, the aluminum telescopic legs feel a touch flimsy when fully extended but have an oddly firm resilliance. Some of the thin metal bars make for pinch points at the mid level brace. However, it's light easy to move and can bear a surprising amount of weight.

Solid for small cameras but not anything with a cage + matte box + follow focus or slider

Purchased this tripod 2014. Very sturdy like my other Manfrotto. Purchased it because its light weight - yes, but would rather travel with my other tripods. Now (2017) the one leg tightening clamp is loose, but it appears you have to take apart the mechanism to tighten. Bummer.

My wife loves this tripod. But I consider it unprofessional. It's an ok tripod but only lasted about 2 years before we had to replace the parts which cost $80. The rubber wore off at the spreader and we have to buy the whole unit.

Solid for the price. Don't use it very often. But glad I have it in my quiver.

I bought this tripod knowing it wouldn't compete with a higher end set of sticks, but I needed something super-lightweight that I could use as a small step up from a monopod in some situations.
