For those who really want an agitator, there are still a few options on the market. GE has one, the GTW485ASJWS , for a few hundred less than this Maytag model, though it has a smaller capacity. It is Energy Star rated, though.

This washer is very different then any other machine I have ever owned. There are several different settings. Additionally, it is quiet hardly hear it. The 4.7 cu. ft. capacity is huge because of the new type agitator.
I've owned quite a few washers, but never one that's as efficient as this one! I read reviews for almost 2 months before I decided to buy this Maytag and, by far, this one has exceeded all my expectations. Worth every penny!
