When renovating my kitchen, I put in an island and didn't want an overhead exhaust fan. This was highly recommended. Love the fact that it's retractable to keep little hands safe, washable filters and stainless steel to add that modern touch. The only thing I'm disappointed in its the noise factor.

My husband and I remodeled our kitchen in 2011 and had the then-current model of this retractable downdraft vent system installed. A few months ago it stopped working - it would not retract.
Purchased recently and unfortunately came with a defective on/off switch. A replacement was quickly installed and the unit is working quite well.
