Netgear's Nighthawk EX7000 range extender packs in AC1900 wireless LAN technology and today we investigate it to see exactly what it can do.
If you need the utmost in performance from an extended Wi-Fi network, plus the ability to connect a host of devices to it, then the Netgear EX7000 fits the bill perfectly. It is probably overkill for most households, though, and the one-year warranty is dis appointing. BUY IT NOW for under £125

Class-leading AC1900 performance, Five Ethernet ports for connecting non-Wi-Fi kit, USB 3.0 port for fast file access and sharing printers, Easy to setup

Need the right hardware to make the most of it, Tries to force you to sign up for Netgear online services, 1yr warranty seems low for the price
Incredible speeds if you have compatible hardware, but the Nighthawk is overkill for almost everyone else
At a little exy price of $299, it won’t be for everyone, but Netgear’s EX7000 does exactly what it says it will, boosting both wireless range and data transfer speeds, and even providing a good five Gigabit Ethernet ports in the process.

Easy setup and maintenance; Stylish; Offers five Gigabit Ethernet ports; Fastlane technology to dedicate the whole of a band for one thing: connecting to the original router or sending out reception and data;

Doesn’t extend the WiFi name, meaning you’re forced to connect to another network, not just keep working off the one you were using already; Expensive;
I could see my wifi network in my detached garage but I couldn't ever connect. I hooked this up by my back door (my core wifi router is about 25-30 ft away) and I can now reliably connect in my garage. I do this to monitor a kiln from the comfort of my home. Very easy to get working.
The Netgear C7100V is one of two modem/router that Comcast allows with voice. The Netgear works great. Comcast just couldn't configure my connection without having a tech come to the house to find out what was wrong.
You can turn on and off the super bright netgear LED from the web interface. Something I found mildly interesting.

The web interface is pretty straightforward and even has an option to allow the device to almost set itself up.

The back of the device is really cluttered. When you put 5 cables in the back and have the three antennas where they are, it’s a bit silly. The little informational card on my device won’t stay in, any time you move it, it slides right out. I’ve since taped it in place.
Using as an extender works great and setup was easy!
Switched All my devices from wireless to wired off this repeater, speeds were virtually the same connected to the walls. The only downside, the internal PS is a bit noisy.
Just as Comcast was going to upgrade my equipment this modem came to my door. It's much faster and more reliable than the Comcast modem ever was and that's enough for me.
This extender has solved the main reason I purchased it - extending the signal from our basement to my wife's office on the second floor of our home... BUT It is useless for all three of the iPhones in our family.
Comcast setup was easy and all 3 (phone, internet, wifi) services are working flawlessly. Owning my own modem was a plus.
