Excellent throughput and range at the 5GHz band, lots of features (including full VPN)?plus a cool name?all make the Nighthawk one of the best routers we've seen from Netgear in a while, despite a few annoyances.

It's been several years since I’ve had the chance to test a router by Netgear so i had no idea of what to expect from the R7000 Nighthawk. I mean ok we all liked the design of the R7000 even before it got here but we couldn't wait to see how it would perform and how the new web interface would be.

If you check the Router Ranker , you'll see the R7000 with a Ranked #1 award. But the date indicates the award isn't current; the R7000 earned the accolade two years ago. #1 award or not, the R7000 still outranks the R7000P using the current Revision 10 test processes.

The Netgear R7000 combines excellent 5-GHz speed with Netgear's handy Genie software, but this router doesn't have the best range.

As far as we're concerned, if we put everything together, Netgear provides one of the better routers currently available with the R7000 Nighthawk. It especially performs exceptionally well on 802.11ac and when under heavy loads, The other tests show it performs well in other areas too.

For future-proofing, it’s a great buy. But for current needs, you’ll get a better deal from a cheaper router.

Today we look at Netgears flagship dual-band router, the Nighthawk R7000. Legit Reviews has been evaluating Wireless-AC devices for a number of years and has put off upgrading from what we think is currently the best overall router, the Netgear R6300.

This router has surprised me. It works very well, especially since I have 5 kids always on the internet. I'm personally getting around 270 mbps download speed and 7 ping. I would recommend this product for gamers or streamers.

My family really enjoys our new wifi router. The set up was really easy, and we have about 15 devices connected to our internet. It has increased our internet speed significantly and we enjoy our purchase.

Iwas definitely under the impression that this router could provide signal throughout my 2 story home. It was better than my old netgear router but I still had to purchase a netgear range extender to cover the further points of my house.

Lots of features that you may not really use. Built in VPN is great for when you are on the road or traveling and want a secure connection.

This router was a great choice for me and my family I game while the wife stream and the kids stray at home and learn. Easy to set up and manage

Set up could be easier. The software setup application didn't recognize my past setup, so it asked me for info that I didn't understand or have on hand. So it took more effort / time to set up than I had hoped. I've had Linksys routers in the past and the one button setup is great.

This router has really been great. No issues setting it up or having devices connect to it. Find that my range for both bands have increased over previous router. No complaints.
