From a second wireless router (working in Repeater mode) located near my system on the other side of the house, I picked off an Ethernet connection to my desktop PC. After adding the Cambridge CXN v2 Network streamer to my nearby system recently, I decided to add some additional Ethernet...

Reliable, fast connectivity. The little blinking green activity lights on each port look cool, except...

I needed this to spy on some Ethernet traffic to debug some embedded projects. I bought it for the mirroring function that copies traffic from one port on to another and then a Raspberry Pi to gather and analyze that traffic. For that purpose it works great!
I needed a switch so that I wouldn't have to rely on WiFi at home, and I wouldn't have to worry about bandwidth issues during video sessions. This switch works like a charm, it took me less than a minute to set up, and I'm set up just like in the office.
This NetGear Unmanaged Switch does exactly what I need it to do by just attaching ethernet cables. My fiber gateway/router connects to wifi repeater by ethernet (not mesh) which in turn connects to this switch. My desktop computers and printers are connected by ethernet to this switch.
Strong Item. Had to upgrade to his. Old Switch was running 100mb speed through a 400mb line. Now it's running very nicely.
I needed a GS105Ev2, which is a lot more switch than this GS105. However, I had a GS105E in a very non-demanding application, so I replaced it with this 105, and re-purposed the 105E. The GS105 allows Ethernet devices to communicate at 10/100/1000 Mbps.
I used this switch to replace an older 100mbps 5 port netgear switch because the connection was too slow for what we needed. After replacing the switch with this one WIndows displayed the speed as 1 gbps and I thought the problem was solved. Well after a week or two we were still having issues.

Cheap, small, compact.

Windows computer plugged into this switch will auto negotiate the speed as 1 GBPS but the actual throughput is 100 mbps.
Great ethernet switch. It was easy to install and this switch does not get all too hot under load. As my demand for more ethernet wires grew, I found myself quickly filling the 4 ports available as one if the ports is used to connect to your modem. I now own a 16 port switch coupled with this one.
Successfully divided a single Ethernet cable to connect both an LG OLED TV and an Arcam ST60 network streamer. Both work just fine! Saved me from crawling around in the attic to run another cable back to the router.
If you need fast little 5 port unmanaged switches, these are perfect - for new network applications or what I did - replace 15 year old switches that were so slow, I had no idea how much of my time they wasted. My main problem was that I needed two switches.
