Specification This new lens from Olympus is part of the Premium range, a selection of high-quality prime lenses for the MFT system cameras. 30mm equates to a “35mm format equivalent” of 60mm, quite a useful focal length, if somewhat unusual.

At the time of writing, if you're interested in macro shooting you only have Olympus and Panasonic options in the Micro Four Thirds mount: Sigma has a few Micro Four Thirds "DN" optics available, but nothing in a dedicated macro design.

The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 30 mm f/3.5 Macro and the Panasonic G Macro 30 mm f/2.8 ASPH. MEGA O.I.S. are worthy opponents that cost almost the same (about 1200 PLN). Both lenses provide very good image sharpness in the centre and on the edge of the frame.

The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 30mm f/3.5 ED Macro is an outstanding performer in the optical department. Centre sharpness is very good wide open, reaching excellent levels at f/5.6. The borders are also very sharp, with optimum performance achieved at f/5.6 and f/8.

The M.Zuiko Digital ED 30mm f/3.5 Macro lens is a great addition to the Olympus M4/3 line-up for a number of reasons: 1. It provides a different perspective to the 60mm f/2.8 macro lens.
It's not a perfect lens but has the expected sharpness of a macro, there's isn't anything bad that surprised when using it, just limitations previously known - most notably the lack of a focus limiter, on a focus-by-wire system such as most electronic m4/3 lenses, you'll always have to turn the...
This lens is an amazing value. It has great sharpness and color and extremely fast autofocus. If you have never used a macro lens before, it will open up a whole new world to you. If you shoot Olympus or other micro 4/3, you owe it to yourself to buy this lens.
The M.Zuiko Digital ED 30mm f/3.5 Macro Lens is an exceptionally good optic for M43 users, allowing you to focus closer than any other lens designed for the M43 format. I prefer this lens over the M.Zuiko ED 60mm f2.8 Macro.
This focal length is a nice complement to the wider-than-normal focal length of my smart phone. It frames subjects in their surroundings as I tend to see them.I was concerned about color contrast when using this lens for general photography.
Call this a first impression review but wow. I've only taken a few photos but they came out amazing. At 1.25X on the chip and hi-res shot mode of 80mp in RAW with my Pen f it's like having a microscope at my disposal.
