High definition surround sound isn’t only a matter of having nice speakers. In the process of creating high quality audio, distortion can weasel its way into a signal at countless junctures.
I am new to surround systems and was a little nervous about setting up my system on my own. However the Onkyo was an absolute doddle to set up despite the amazing range of features available.
Just invested in a 5.1 system with the option of going atmos in the future.simon from the hull store hooked me up with the onkyo 686 and the monitor mass speaker package....amazing thank you again hope to see you soon with the atmos speaker upgrade.jon
It’s always fiddly setting up a new receiver... all those wires.... but having airplay and chrome cast on this box means I have a few less connections than my old box. And what a great sound!
I have always liked the Onkyo amplifiers and I had a bit of cash so I decided to upgrade I'm so glad I did the new 686 is spot on
I bought this model few weeks back in change of a TX-NR616 and after connecting same speaker systems I can feel the difference in sound, before barely I could appreciate the fx from rear speakers whereas now I can feel more envolving sound.
Partnered with Monitor Audio Bronze AV speakers and following a firmware update, upgrade of speaker cable and setup of main speakers using bi-amping it has great sound. Recent firmware now delivers "works with Sonos" which was easily setup. So overall really pleased.
This onkyo replaced my older amp. The sound quality is even more amazing and so easy to set up and use.
Great sounds and for myself a easy to navigate and complete UI and menu set. Highly customisable.
JP I’m store set up a sound test and my decision was made.
Went with some options, after talking with the RS team, decided on another Onkyo. Great d vision great recommendation, sound is amazing , everything into the onkyo ten out through Panasonic TV and Keff surround, it’s as good as being at the cinema. Thank you to RS,
