The Philips Fidelio X2HR are great headphones for neutral sound listening. Their sound profile is very well-balanced, though some may find they sound a bit dull with some frequencies and piercing with others. They also lack a bit of low-bass, though this is common with open-back headphones.

Well-balanced sound profile., Comfortable., Premium, durable look and feel.
-
-
Bulky design., Open-back design results in poor noise isolation and leakage performance.
If you take everything good about these headphones:- Amazing comfort.- Easy to drive.- Great soundstage.- Clear tones.- Punchy bass.- Good for gaming, music, movies or general dialogue. And add the cons:- Hard to find....You end up with just an amazing set of headphones.

I've been using the audio technica mx50s for the past three years but the fit was not comfortable and I wanted a value upgrade. I researched and decided upon the Fidelio X2HR. I received them today, pulled them from the box and connected to my external DAC running 24/192 and the sound is superb.

they are epic and awwsome. very cool I LOLE TO GAME ON THEM.
These headphones are unbelievably amazing. You really can't beat them for this price. The frequency response is tuned so closely to the harman curve, which I personally find superior. If that's not your sound, then you obviously wouldn't like these.
I had mine for about a month when the interior headstrap came apart at one end.So now the headphones are completely non-adjustable and flop down to my neck.It looks like it is just a thin piece of elastic that is supposed to hold everything together. It seems like something that would be covered...
An Unexpectedly good headphone at a pragmatic price The updated version of the Fidelio X2 is an excellent headphone Before I start this review, I will admit I probably had the wrong opinion about the Fidelio X2HR - it was probably due to the Philips brand and some deep-seated audiophile prejudices.

Can be bought for as little as €80, Excellent sound signature, Very solid build quality, Detachable cable

A bit heavy compared to its competitors, Bass distortion is a bit higher than I would like
Absolutely exceptional for price. Wide soundstage, near liquid mids, transparent highs, and a STATEMENT in flat response.Endgame phones for under 1000 USD. A good DAC/Amp combo puts the X2HR on par with four figure systems, easily. Give these a good tube amp for best results.
The most surprising thing about these open-back headphones is how well the bass frequencies come through. Good presence and an open sound stage make them great for a lot of applications such as music, gaming and watching movies. Highly recommended.

Having owned the older Philips Fidelio X2 produced by Gibson, I expected these new X2HR headphones to be the same or better in sound and build but it appears the quality have dropped with the change of production to TPV or MMD Hong Kong Holdings.Difference in build quality is apparent, the metal...
I'm very happy with these headphones, the sound quality is amazing. I'm no expert but I've never paid a lot of money for headphones in the past and just took a risk with these but I'm very satisfied with my purchase, money well spent
