I replaced my Boston Acoustics VR-10 with the R300 and have absolutely no regrets. The definition on vocals is exactly what I've been looking for. Instead of reaching for the remote and turning up the volume to hear dialogue, I now leave it on the end table. Nice!

Perfect size that fits most any entertainment cabinet without sacrificing sound quality

For the price, these are unbelievably good speakers. I use them as my surround back speakers hooked to an Onkyo 515 (using the Polk Audio PSW10 as a sub) and I could not be more pleased with the sound. They are perfect.

Excellent highs and mids Able to handle whatever you throw at it

If you see the Polk name, you know you're getting quality. A lot of people are using these as surrounds, but I have them up front and I'm completely happy with the performance. They put out great, full-range sound from 2-way speakers.
Huge upgrade from my CS1. Final puzzle piece in my R200, 10" sub system. Very nice timbre match and plenty of bass and crystal clear highs. Expensive but worth it. Wish i had these years ago. Now need to figure out where to fit the towers without moving!

Perfect timbre match. Sound quality is fantastic.

Price, space-I wouldnt call it small like Polk does
If you're looking for great speakers for your home theater (and you don't have a large theater room) then I would definitely recommend buying these.

Great sound. Bought two for my new home theater and I am very impressed with the sound quality. Two of them together produce the bass of one sub!

None that I can think of.
These Polk R300 Speakers are great for beginning and budget home theater speakers. I am currently running them on a stereo set up and they are hold up great. I plan on moving them to my surrounds and using another set, probably polk's monitor series, as my main fronts.
This Speaker is solidly built and sounds very clear and concise. Vocals are very natural and it was a big improvement over my older Polk center. However, the 300 is a bit too small for my space and the rest of my system and unfortunately, the 400 is too large for where I need to put my center.
Seriously, wish i bought 2-4 of these when they were on sale :/

Sounds crispy in the living room/kitchen area with my other 4 speakers on a pioneer 5.1 system. plenty of bass, nothing to extreme, but with 2 or 3 of these speakers it would provide some serious sound

The Polk R300 is great for home theater and good for music. Don't expect to be blown away by the sound of stereo music, but the mids and highs are good, and with a sub sounds great.
Beautiful construction, and amazing clarity. Love it!
