I've had this mic a couple of months now. The first few times I used it, I was impressed. The sound quality is impressive for such a budget mic. Nice form factor, great coiled cord that is replaceable. But, there is a serious problem. I noticed a loud hum in a recording from a Panasonic G85.
For any videographer that's constantly on the go, the RODE Video Mic GO is the best option. If you're doing any kind of backstage interviews, small concert videos to show your friends, or just need a professional sound in an everyday video setting without the room for a boom mic and operator, this...

easy to use, lightweight, pro sound
This is without doubt the best Mic that I have ever used by a long way. Well worth the money.
Ive had this mic for about 5 months and use it quite often with my interviews and I couldn't be happier with the quality. Ive use it at concerts and I simply love Rode quality. You won't be disappointed.
The only reason I give this mic a 4.5 and not a 5 is because the connection wire to camera was not very long at all and needed to buy an extension since I was actually setting the mic up closer than the camera was. Otherwise, performed great!
I don't use this product much, but the few times that I have, the product has worked as intended. It's useful with my Rode VideoMic when needing more mobility with my microphone.
This microphone is light and easy to attach to my camera rig. It is incredibly silent in manual mode and picks up heavily in front (which is a good thing!). On full auto mode, the microphone does create some slight hum, but it is not bad enough to be noticeable to the average person.
Used in an environment where the mic has to be about 7-10 feet from the speaker, and it picks up just great. No hollowness, or ringing. LED's on the back of the unit keep one up to date with the charge status, and the db settings.
This mic takes in such clear rich signal and for a bargin price! We film outdoors, indoors, in studio, it performs extremely well in every setting. It has great recognition of the "voice" over "white noise" ex: traffic, air-conditioning units, etc... I recommend this mic highly!
I originally bought this so that I could get closer to my subject with the Rode VideoMic Pro when I had the time to set it up and it wasn't directly in the hot-shoe, or even run it as a boom into a camera. I thought I'd be able to run this line directly from the mic into the camera.
