Plenty powerful for club gigs. Rich, versatile chorus and vibrato effects.

Distorted tones are a bit thin.
The JC-40 combo is one of those amps that's hard to beat!! It does everything well! My acoustics sound great and of course, my electrics too. Responds well to pedals and who can argue about the best chorus sound on the planet !! It's built like a tank, looks beautiful too.
It sounds just like I remember when I'd claim the JC120 in the rehearsal space. The chorus and vibrato are rich and subtle. And it weighs half what a jc120 weighs.
Well up to expectations and is remarkably powerful for a 40 watt transistor amp. Beautiful clean sounds as well as excellent distortion (unlike the old JC120.) Wonderful built in stereo chorus sounds also.
Great unit with what was looking for in a mate for my GR55, It's easy to carry and can hold it's own with any amp in the 40/50 watt class. Inputs are clear and consise and zero line buzz with tone up.I've been playing guitar for 55 yeras and used every amp manufactured that makes sense i.e.

Got this for my son, a serious jazz guitarist finishing high school in a top notch program. It was a big investment and he was unsure what he wanted, but knew he wanted something with a really clean sound, soary on the high tones.
I listened to countless video's, demo's, searching for the clear, clean sound of a guitar and it's quality, on an amplifier, didn't think it existed anymore ! I'm old school, not complaining about other's type of music, just thought mine was gone for good.
I've had a Fender Twin (2x12) since the early 2000s. Its characteristically clean tone has always been the hallmark of that amplifier, and it remains with me to this day. The thing weighs a ton, though, and over the past year, I've been researching amps to find an additional amp under 40 pounds and...
