Sample capabilities dramatically add to the flexibility., Far deeper sound shaping and effects than those of the original TR-8., Extra variation modes and automation add considerably to the sequencer.

Added depth means that it loses a little immediacy., Effects are decent, but lack a bit of character., Auto-Fill mode gets old fairly quickly.

The space on the review bench left by Roland’s Boutique TR-08 barely had time to cool before it was filled with a new instrument bearing yet another combination of those iconic letters and numbers.
I didnt buy from here but I own it and had to leave a second review. the person who left a bad review must have been frustrated. if there were previous issues Im not experiencing them. Its a big learning curve but this thing is a WORKHORSE!
There are problems with the TR-8S as of 3/14/18. I am on the latest firmware, and the drum machine will often not play sounds that are on the timeline. It will also often continue to play sounds after you remove them.
