In India, the Sennheiser MKE 440 costs anywhere around Rs. 21,000-Rs. 22,000. This translates well from its Dollar pricing where it costs $350 in the United States. The price is good if you want to have a single microphone solution for all your audio related stuff for your camera.

Simple fur windshield. Not much to get wrong

I have been trying for a long time to find a good on-camera mic that suits my needs. This one is excellent. Most of what I do is filming live music. That means I need a good sounding mic, in this case stereo, with a high SPL level that allows for the loud impact of drums without distortion.

Fantastic mic. Nice and compact. Would love to see a lightning connector version for iPhone and iOS.

I love this mic. I just used it on a shoot where my subjects were 3 to 9 feet away and it was terrific. Nice stereo feel too. Roll off the base and there is almost NO handling noise. Great for a small hand held camera. I've shot for a few decades and Sennheiser never ceases to really amaze me.

So, the first and, thus far, only test I have taken this microphone on was a rock climbing trip my brother and I took. Fist off, let me just say that recording direct-to-camera sucks, so I can't blame the microphone for the poor compression that made my voice and my brother's voice very quiet.

My experience after using other shotgun mics and seeing this advertised as stereo shotgun was intriguing, and after a few test videos with my D3200 Nikon, I was impressed by the lack of wind noise, turning the freq down (construction zone), and with music in a noisy conversational room (winery), I...

Pros:1) Delivers a clean stereo separation at various distances.2) Easy to mount on the hot-shoe and the coiled input cord stays neatly out of the way.3) When powered on, the green light is a nice reminder and the low battery red light too.

It somewhat perform as described. It is capable of filtering the noise coming from the side but not as much as I would have hoped for. Seems to be less sensitive to ambiant noise (humming or buzzing) than my other stereo microphone. Being a shotgun style helps with this.

Received mike, obviously previously opened, both aaa batteries were dead. I had no time for a return as I needed it for the next day. Microphone performed flawlessly.

A really solid, wonderful stereo microphone.
