The SE535 is, on the whole, a better earphone than the outgoing SE530 model, but sets such as the Westone 4 are quick to point out its remaining deficiencies

  • +

Top-notch build quality, well-accessorized, performance improved over SE530

  • -

    Detachable cable can be unwieldy

So if you can stomach the high price and are looking for an audible step up, the Shure SE535s sound like nirvana and there’s a lot of the fun in trying to find what’s been hiding in your music.

  • +

Really good sound, Removable cables, Good selection of add-ons, Little to no microphonics

  • -

Really high price, Not the most comfortable earphones at this price

Shure’s efforts to evolve ergonomically correct and excellent sounding headphones have born some delicious fruit with this line-up. All of these headphones fit extremely well in the ear and are very secure on the head. The build quality and features are excellent across the board.

The Shure SE535 isn’t a new earphone – it’s been on the market for six years. During that time, though, it has remained a popular choice for anyone searching around the $499 price point. How good does it sound, though? And is it the right in-ear headphone for you?

The SE535s are a good, durable set of in-ears. They’re stupidly expensive at $500, though.

If you have something over £400 to spend on a pair of earphones, cost be damned, then the Shure SE535s are without a doubt the best you can buy and we recommend them unreservedly.

The cables themselves are the first things that shout “high quality”. Shure has gone with a new Kevlar-reinforced material that’s far more resilient than standard plastic, and they’ve added gold-plated connectors right on the monitors themselves.

    Perfect sound quality; replaceable cables

Unbelievably detailed, utterly uncompromising.

There are three types of earphones; those that look good, those that sound good, and those that look and sound awful. The Shure SE535 earphones sit firmly in the second category. Stylish and good-looking they are not, but they do sound utterly fantastic. At £350 they're certainly not cheap.

These are the best earphones I've ever gotten. The sound quality is a huge upgrade from cheap earbuds, and you can really hear everything clearly. It's an amazing upgrade. Expensive, but well worth it if you listen to music

  • +

Sound quality. That's why you buy these things.

  • -

The fit takes a while to get used to. They are not like the cheap earbuds you're used to, and it can take a bit to figure out.

Love these Share earbuds. Bought one for me and one for my wife. Like the fact that you can replace cord since my old pair of earbuds were hardwired and the connection frayed. These have excellent sound. Use them every day.

I lost my 425 and thought this would be a good replacement. It is good, but the price difference is definitely not justified. And I preferred bass of 425 more. Oh well. Plus, the special "red" version cable is relatively flimsy and does not go behind your neck as in 425.

The sound is fairly what I expected to be. They do most types of music well, but you have to play around with ear tip sizing to get the best sound along with adjusting your equalizer a little for ones taste. Everyone hearing is a bit different so what works for one may not work for others.

It was hard for me to properly judge the quality of this product because of what I considered to be drawbacks. First was the difficulty in getting a proper fit and getting them to stay in place. This was my first product with over the ear loop of the wiring.

This earphone is a perfect for pop music, especially songs from female artists.

Sound is beautiful. Clear improvement from SE215 & SE315. However, the included remote control cables are thin, flimsy, and with no rigid metal wires. i am using the headphones with the regular thicker cable from the SE315.

These and the 846 are by far my favourite go-to in-ear monitors. To experience the full potential of these, have custom moulds of your ears done. The memory foam buds supplied with them are perfectly acceptable, however nothing will substitute custom molds for providing the air seal required to...
