Sirui K-40x Ball Head

I bought this ball head in Jan. 2016. It has been used not many times. Recently it suddenly got stuck. No matter how I rotated the knob the ball is very hard to move, certainly not usable. The temperature here innorthern California was around 45F, not particularly cold.

I needed to purchase a hefty tripod to support my Gimbal Head and my 200-500mm lens. While I was at it, I wanted a product that I could plop down in a stream without ruining it. I found my tripod in the Sirlui W2204, but now I needed a Ball Head for use with other lenses.

The K-40x is a steady, smooth ball head. It takes no time to learn and works beautifully. Mine is mounted on an Oben tripod. Great combination. Holds my Nikkor 200-500mm with d850 mounted to it. To buy a second plate for mounting is a bit pricey. Otherwise, its a terrific ball head.

I can't praise this ballhead highly enough. Very solid, beautifully engineered and smooth. Attention to detail is sublime. I use it with a dslr and 300mm lens. No sign of slipping or droop even over long periods.

I purchased this ball head for my Sirui N2004SK tripod, and the pair is unbeatable. I live in Alaska and shoot wildlife, aurora borealis and landscapes, often with a long telephoto.

This is a great beast of a ball head . Fantastic bit of kit .

This is a joy to use and to look at!!! Everything has a well finished look and the feel is solid. It tops my Robus CF-5570 off nicely too.

Just ordered this the other day to use on a Benro TAD27C tripod. This ball head will be for my Panasonic S1 and GH4 until I get a fluid head over time. Tried out the K-40X 1st night I got it and Im totally happy with it. Its smooth as butter and the precision was everything I was hoping for. I would definitely recommend the K-40X, the 2 ball on the K40 makes it very steady and smooth.

I recently purchased the Sirui K-40 to replace the Pan & Tilt head that came with my tripod Ive had for some time. The tripod is sturdy, but the head was so imprecise if aiming at a small target. It was difficult to get it right.
