“With Dolby Atmos, the Sonos Era 300 offers an entirely new way to listen to music.”

Dolby Atmos Music-compatible, Incredible, immersive sound, Easy, fast room tuning, Perfect as home theater surrounds, Line-in for analog sources, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2

No Google Assistant
When you find a good spatial audio song, Sonos’ new speaker can blow your mind and sounds like nothing else. But it trails the Sonos Five at stereo playback and suffers from the wildly inconsistent state of Atmos mixes.
-
+
Best spatial audio from any standalone speaker, Extra drivers make a difference for home theater audio, Bluetooth and line-in offer nice flexibility, 90-degree power cable doesn’t stick out far
-
-
Handily bested by the Sonos Five for stereo music, Quality of spatial audio music varies to an extreme degree, Sonos app needs UX improvements — and fast, Line-in requires USB-C adapter
Atmos everything The new Era 300 sounds like a jack-of-all-trades. Smart speaker, multi-room use, surround sound and PC connection are all features on offer. In this review, we have taken a look at the Era 300 as an alone-standing device as well as a full surround sound system, including all of the...
We put perhaps the most hyped speaker of the year to the test. The Sonos Era 300 represents a new wave in 3D music playback, with sound that can induce everything from goosebumps to gag reflexes...

The Era 300 delivers a powerful and dynamic sound with potent bass, creating a three-dimensional soundstage that is unexpectedly large for such a compact speaker.
-
-
Although the Era 300 supports Dolby Atmos music playback, you still need a compatible Sonos soundbar to play films and shows in Atmos format.
The Sonos Era 300 is the next step for Sonos speakers. Sonos has faced serious increasing competition from the likes of Google, Apple, and Amazon, and in some ways, it’ll never be able to face that competition due to locked up first-party features that simply aren’t accessible to it.

The Sonos Era 300 is good for music. Like most premium speakers on the market, this device has a room correction tool designed to automatically optimize audio reproduction based on the unique acoustics of your room.

Some compression at max volume.
Tyler Hayes / Review Geek Whether you’re interested in spatial audio or not, the Sonos Era 300 is here. The speaker will work with any kind of music, but it was designed to play Dolby Atmos music. Thankfully, it sounds great playing just about anything you throw at the speaker.

Compact size, Crisp and clear audio, Convincing spatial audio reproduction

Expensive for a wireless speaker (reasonable price for spatial audio speaker), Line-in requires an adapter for an additional cost
The Sonos Era 300 successfully brings high quality spatial audio to life in a compact, standalone package.

No compatibility with Atmos tracks on Tidal Does not work with Sony 360 Reality on Amazon Sensitive to speaker placement
The Sonos Era 300 wows in so many ways. Its looks, its sound quality, its spatial audio performance, and its extra inputs all make it one of the best things I’ve tested so far this year. I love it for its strengths and forgive it for its small shortcomings because it sounds and looks so good.
Sonos' spacial audio specialist is seriously spectacular

Divisive design, Adapter for Ethernet, No Google Assistant
Once I had figured out how to set things up I was very happy. Paired with the Arc and the Sub the sound from my Era 300's is excellent, the high notes come out very bright while the bass is not over heavy. Due to the directional mic it seems that everywhere in the room is a sweet spot.

Difficult to Set Up
beautiful design! has a nice sound for stereo music. TBH, haven't tried spatial audio since I don't have Apple Music or amazon music unlimited.. I'm a Spotify user.. hoping they get off the fence and add spatial audio to their offerings. BUT, if you're like me.. you would still enough the sound.

nice overall sound and sleek design

pricey and a bit big for using as rear channel speakers for home theater
I use the Era 300 in my dining room. Spatial audio works very well and I am able to hear music from various corners of the room. It is a hit and miss though as not all music works well with it, Also, there is no indicator on the Sonos App as to which tracks are in spatial audio, Inability to stream...

Not able to airplay spatial audio, Sonos App fiddly and slow.
In a nutshell, I would describe this product as "transformative." I purchased a pair of Era 300s to act as a surround set for my Sonos Beam Gen 2 and Sonos Sub Mini. I expected there to be a benefit, but I never expected it to be as transformative as it was.

Love these. They're a great addition to our set. Amazing sound quality, particularly with Dolby atmos. All in all very pleased with a few minor complaints:1. Difficult set up (converted from s1 to s2)2. Software needs readjusting if paired with arc (sound is nonexistent on the 300s)3.

Difficult Setup
Took me a while to get the era 300 connected to my system as I am technically challenged sometimes. But by some miracle over night everything came together and worked perfectly.

Sounds great in my small room with the Arc and sub.

Expensive but worth it I hope.
I researched the ERA 300 throughly before I bought it and I wasn't sure if it could live up to expectations. It did, and then some. Absolutely amazing sound quality that copes with every type of music that I've played through it.

Easy to Set Up, Streams All My Music, and More, Superior Sound, Wireless
Very good speakers, I tested alternative smart speakers brands in the same price range and the Eras were clearly better. I use them paired, for music only, in a midsize room, and they deliver clear and fairly balanced sound that fill the space with no obvious distortion.
Brought two Era 300 and the stands and the first thing l must mention they look fantastic, l have the arc and 2 subs so with great intrepidation l watched Mavrick and omg the Dolby Atmos kicked in and l must say the sound was so immersive and sound was unreal it was awesome, then on the music using...

Signature Sonos sound. Focus on mid range. Balanced highs. The bass can be a bit boomy. The speaker placement makes this a better ambient/rear speaker.
