Due to the usefulness of the focal length and aperture combination, the 24mm f/1.4 prime lens is one of the most represented lenses in manufacturers' lineups and Sony's FE model entrant in this lens class is a big hit.
The Sony FE 24mm F/1.4 GM isn't what we'd call the perfect glass. We had to fix some issues of purple fringing and vignetting in post. Granted, they were very minimal and practically invisible to the untrained eye.

Signs of chromatic aberration, Pricey
The Sony FE 24mm f1.4 G Master is a wide-angle prime lens designed for its Alpha series of full-frame mirrorless cameras. The lens delivers a popular field-of-view that’s wider than 28mm without the distortion related to wider options, while the bright f1.4 focal ratio is ideal in low-light and also...

Pretty small and light for an f1.4 lens., Very good resolution and contrast., Very good resistance against flare, glare, and ghosting., Very nice background Bokeh., Weather sealing, de-clickable aperture ring, lockable lens hood, focus-lock button.

Longitudinal color aberrations up to f2.8., High price.
The Sony FE 24mm f/1.4 GM is very specialised, very expensive and not quite optically perfect, but there's still nothing quite like it for low-light wide-angle photography on full-frame Sony mirrorless cameras.

Quite compact considering its specs, Superb build quality and finish, Click-stop aperture ring

Some edge softness wide open

You'll need some deep pockets, but if you've been holding out for Sony to launch a high-quality wide-angle prime, you won't be disappointed with the FE 24mm f/1.4 GM.

Pricey
The Sony FE 24mm f/1.4 GM is an outstanding wide-angle prime lens with a very fast maximum aperture, although the high asking price is certainly reflective of the performance and image quality on offer.
Used for astrophotography on my A7s incredible photographs my best ever for detail and pin point stars also used it for a few snapshots on my A6300 again very good clear clean photographs
I bought this lens 3 months ago with my A7III and this was my only lens for a while. I really love it and images are pin-sharp. Lightweight / great auto-focus capabilities and solid quality. Ideal for landscape / night and street photo.
Picked this up a few months back, and yep.. It's as good as everyone makes it out to be. Fast and reliable AF, great for video and manual focus as well. This lens can handle wide shots and close portraits with ease.. I find that it has been on my camera more than I expected it to be.
never take it off my gimbal!)
This lens will allow you to take ridiculously sharp photos. The bokeh is as sweet as the 24mm focal length allows. It's not a macro lens, but focusing distance is far shorter than most non-macro lenses, so you can get pretty darn close to subject and get even blurrier backgrounds.
There is not much to say. This lens is amazing!
I was lucky enough to track down one of these after numerous phone calls to every store within 100 miles, and it is AMAZING. Let me put it this way: my wife, a non photographer whos seen many images of mine from other lenses, saw a couple of tester shots from this afternoon when I was editing them...
I am an astrophotographer in Reunion Island, and own many f1.4 or f1.8 primes of other brands, from 14 to 50 mm range. The first time I made a photo with this lens (of course it was at night and at f1.4 ) I was simply shocked by the sharpness of the image, even in the corners.
Still getting used to the lens in terms of composition at 24mm. But brilliant sharpness, bokeh with good colour and contrast. Sometimes knock the aperture ring, but now aware, it's not a problem, cant fault it.
Love this 24mm lens for a wide range of shooting conditions. It excels in low light and has been amazing when for video paired w/ A7iii on a DJI Ronin-S. I split time between this lens an 24-105mm when I need the extra reach.
