I have only used it to listen to digital sources, for which its clarity is the utmost.Haven't yet tried the phono source functionality, but i plan to. Features like bluetooth from your phone to the amp, plus a hard wired jack for whatever music player you want to use with an output on it.
Great for TV and other inputs and speakers in a smaller room. FM reception is somewhat limited if you live in a rural area some distance from the source. You cannot manually dial in a station number only seek and scan for signal.
This is an excellent receiver sound wise with bluetooth. Almost unbeatable for the price. But if you still listen to FM you may have issues. I did not think for one second that they would have a specialized jack for the FM antenna, only to find out I am unable to hook up an external coaxial cable...
This is a superb product. I got it as a replacement for my old receiver and not only does it allow me to continue to connect to FM radio, my turntable, CD player, and tape deck, but the sound coming out of my speakers is terrific.
The price was not the only deciding factor for me. Over my 50 years I have owned many sony products from T.V.s to stereos and they have always lasted way past my expectations. This Receiver will not disappoint you. I have very old cheap speakers and my sound is better than I expected.
It's decent. I have it hooked up to my theater and the sound is powerful.
I purchased this 2- channel amp to be used in my small room w/o a financial burden on myself. It works great with sufficient power and the installed blutooth. I like it's remote because of an easy and simple feature. The following review is follow up about 3 week after my purchase.
I just regret that many of the controls are only accessible via the remote control. But everything works fine.
With vinyl records coming back, I wanted to upgrade my sound system. This receiver, along with some decent 100 watt speakers sure did the trick. I have always been a fan of Sony products, and this did not disappoint. For a system on a budget, I highly recommend it.
I bought this to power a set of DIY Zaph Audio SR71's. The power seems adequate and matches the needs of the speakers quite well. All functions seem to work well, as expected. Sound quality is subjective and I don't think it helps for me to try to explain what it sounds like.
