The WH-XB900N are a decent pair of wireless headphones, with an impressive feature set and great battery life. But they are significantly less appealing than Sony’s premium model, and are also outflanked by other competitors at or around their price point. Yes.

Clean, simple looks, Great battery life, Stacked feature set

Muddy, bass-heavy sound signature, Noise-canceling is sub-par
The Sony WH-XB900N Extra Bass is a solid noise-canceling headphone, but it doesn't quite hit the same heights as its industry-leading step-up sibling.

The Sony WH-XB900N Extra Bass has a similar design to the WH-1000XM3 and shares many of its features but costs $100 less. It's a comfortable headphone, has USB-C charging, good battery life and effective noise-canceling.

Too much bass for some people. Lacks the premium feel of the still-awesome WH-1000XM3.
Whether you work remotely or commute, chances are you’re constantly on-the-go, making quiet time a rare indulgence. Sony recently released a more affordable pair of ANC headphones, the Sony WH-XB900N , to accompany you on your daily subway excursion.

Build quality Great noise cancelling and isolation Touchpad works well and ambient mode is useful LDAC, aptX, aptX HD support

Extreme bass emphasis Earpads heat up quickly Granular EQ adjustments default down to SBC streaming
While they're slightly cheaper, these aren't necessarily a less expensive pair of the WH-1000XM3. They share many of the same features, but they're entirely their own pair of headphones.

Good build quality, Great active noise cancelling and isolation, Touchpad works perfectly and ambient mode is useful, Good Bluetooth codec support and no A/V lag

Way too much bass, Earpads can get hot during long listening sessions, To get the most out of the features, you need to revert down to SBC
The Sony WH-XB900N delivers as advertised. And unlike many other extra bass headphones I’ve tested in this price range, these cans offer an impressively clean profile. Furthermore, considering that the sound performance beats the WH-100XM3, which sells for a 150 bucks more, the WH-XB900N is a solid...
The Sony WH-XB900N are fairly versatile headphones for a variety of uses and are built to be a more affordable ...

Comfortable design., Great app support with customization options., Excellent battery life.

Very long charge time., Disappointing noise isolation performance.
Big headphones, check. Active noise cancellation, check. Good looks, check. That is, in a way, a rather solid foundation for the new Sony WH-XB900N headphones to build on. The latest set of cans joining the Sony headphone line-up.
It might feel like headphones are becoming harder to choose. That’s partially because there are more options than ever before, so your range of selection is just much larger than it used to be.

Terrific sound quality

Noise-canceling isn't quite amazing
The Sony WH-XB900N isn't quite as capable as the WH-1000XM3 in some small ways, but is practically as good when it comes to factors that matter most. Sound quality is excellent for a number of reasons, including good drivers, proper tuning, and support for advanced Bluetooth codecs.

Technically advanced, with excellent Bluetooth codec support, Aggressive yet refined bass, Detailed and composed sound, good tuning, Comfortable, Very good battery life, Good app

Noise isolation isn't ideal, Bluetooth 4.2 instead of Bluetooth 5.0, Connection stability issues with 990kbps LDAC, Powerful bass can cause listener fatigue
I have been using these headphones for two weeks now very comfortable, sound is great, feel of product is excellent and noise cancelling works very well, very impressed. All features work well with what ever I am using.
After having the headphones for two weeks I have found them to have a wonderful depth of sound to include fantastic clarity/bass and great features. I have found they are very comfortable on the ear, even after several hours use they haven't made my ears sore like other headphones can do.
Very comfortable and noise cancelling works very well. The sound out the box is not great, the bass is pushed way to much. Instead of being able to simply provide the deeper bass, it artificially boosts it without any way of disabling that feature on the headphones.
