The Sony ZV-1 is a pocketable camera with strong still image quality and features geared specifically toward vloggers.
-
+
Compact form factor, Flip-out touch screen, Bright, sharp zoom lens, Excellent in-camera audio, External mic and flash support, 4K video capture
-
-
A wider-angle lens would be welcome, Limited touch features, Face detection struggles when wearing protective mask, Underwhelming battery life, No in-camera flash
The Sony ZV-1 delivers everything that a vlogger could wish for in a compact camera, and it comes with Sony's excellent AF system. There are features to help inexperienced photographers/videographers/vloggers get good results, the exposure can be controlled automatically or manually and there's a...

Designed specifically for vloggers but also a capable stills camera, Stabilised 4K video, Vari-angle touchscreen

No Built-in Viewfinder, Low Battery Life: 260 shots, No Environmental Sealing, 70 mm - Poor Telezoom Coverage, Optical Zoom only 2.9X
The Sony ZV-1 is the best compact vlogging camera around, though it's not quite perfect, and some of the key differences might incline you to save up a little more for a Sony RX100-series camera instead.
-
+
Fantastic image quality from sensor, Fantastic image quality from lens, Best-in-class autofocus performance, Numerous features perfectly suited for vlogging, Ultra-portable, Good battery life, for its size, Affordable compared to similar alternatives
-
-
Limited zoom range compared to RX100 VII, No Electronic Viewfinder (EVF), Active SteadyShot crops image and introduces more rolling shutter, Touchscreen not as functional as it could be
The ZV-1 is Sony’s first RX100-series camera designed specifically for vlogging. It does that job well thanks to a lightweight body, built-in high-quality microphone, flip-out display, best-in-class autofocus and excellent image quality.
-
+
Small and lightweight, Fast autofocus with reliable face/eye tracking, Built-in high-quality microphone, Fully articulating screen, Good video quality
-
-
Lens needs to be wider, No headphone port, Limited touch screen functions
Irrespective of price from my own tests I’d say the ZV1 is preferable for video creators out of the box. Most obviously its built-in lens is more flexible and convenient than the A7C’s 28-60 kit zoom, with a broader range, built-in ND filter, automatic lens cover and much closer focusing, while its...
Some might dismiss the ZV-1 as yet another Sony RX100 variant, but it’s much more than that. The sensor and lens might be familiar, but the body, the controls, the audio and the rear screen are all new and different and optimised brilliantly for vlogging.

+
Vari-angle rear screen, Clip on wind shield, Brilliantly fast AF
-
-
Minimum focus distance changes with zoom, Stabilization seems pretty jerky, Why a 3:2 screen and not 16:9?
A nearly perfect camera for vloggers
-
+
: Beautiful recording quality, can record up to 4K, good image stabilisation, rotatable LCD screen, and a dedicated Bokeh switch to blur background easily
-
-
: Low battery life, no dial mode, no viewfinder
The Sony ZV-1 is a beginner-friendly camera perfect for on the go shooting and vlogging. While some of the features are borderline gimmicks, the core vlogging features are solid.
The new Sony ZV-1 is a camera that the Japanese electronics manufacturer has smartly modelled after its RX100 premium compact cameras that have won many fans over.
I took pictures a videos with this camera for a couple of months. It is easy to carry with it's compact body. And the pictures and videos are so beautiful, even as good as many top range camera. The audio quality of build in mic phone is fantastic too. It included Sony the most lately technologies.
Erittäin hyvä kuvanlaatu. Takarulla saisi olla hieman jämäkämpi, nyt tulee tahattomia painalluksia, kun sitä pyörittää.
More capable for video than the rx100 series cameras in a variety of ways: flip out screen, better built-in mic, mic input, better control layout, much less expensive than rx100m7. Also good for outdoor still photography, but no flash.
I bought this camera to do live streaming. It constantly overheats, even when the hi-temp setting is enabled. It can’t be powered by USB. The USB out is only capable of 1024×576, so you need to use an external capture card like an Elgato Cam Link 4K.
I run a dummy battery into a wall and hour-long training videos with a teleprompter. This does great work and looks beautiful with auto features.I thought Canon had the only good autofocus after owning C100 mkii and Sony A7Sii but now Sony ZV-1 has Best of both worlds.
This is my fourth Sony and I'm not planning on getting rid of any of them. Yes, the menu system seems cumbersome, but after enough playing around...it becomes "kind of" second nature. The ZV-1 sounded perfect for making quick YouTube videos and other content, so I decided to give it a try.
i recently buy this camera and i had many surprise but nothing wrong only good surprise.
The camera is hands down just amazing! It's lightweight and easy to handle. The picture is really nice too. The vlogger kit in the bundle took me a while to get adjusted to but it's really convenient and easy to use as well. #sweepstakes
