Speed Queen 3.2 Cu. Ft. White Top Load Washer

I've had this model for 2 months and am quite pleased with it's performance. The cycles seem to take less time than my old Maytag. Really like that it stays balanced - the old Maytag was frequently off balance. The construction is really solid - no flimsy steel in this washer.

Anyone reviewing how this machine is built ( in the USA ) will see that it is truly superior to foreign junk with fancy circuit boards that fail in 2 years. Even the standard US brands have debased themselves with made in Mexico components, plastic gears, flimsy non-galvanized steel.

If you don't subscribe to Eco-Nazi ideology, then this is the washer for you.

We like it but have noticed in a very short time (fairly new) it does not seem to spin as well or as fast as it did, clothes are not as dry after spinning. Only a couple years old.

After playing around with a high end Kenmore that would dazzle with all it's blinking lights and a computerized mother board that failed resulting in a mammoth repair bill, I decided to go with Speedqueen. Boy am I glad I did. I love this machine.

A few weeks ago I bought a HE washer in which the manual noted you cannot wash water resistant or waterproof items. Most of the items I wash are sports gear. After reading the reviews for this Speed Queen, I bought this one to have as a second washer so I can wash my fleece, windbreakers, waterproof...

I recommend the Speed Queen AWN542 as it is well built, does a great job cleaning, and is gentle on clothes. Also, it's manufactured in the US.

After purchasing 2 Samsung HE washers in less than 1 1/2 years, I have finally found a washer that I love! It cleans my clothes by putting enough water into the clothes to get them clean. I can open the lid to add more clothes, without pressing "pause" and waiting for the lid to unlock.

If you want a tough machine that cleans well and built like they were 35 years ago buy this.

This Speed Queen top loader is a everything I need in a washer. Unlike the new "front loader" style , this old school machine has a large capacity stainless steel basket and it is simple to use. I noticed how much heavier it was compared to the Kenmore it replaced. Very solid.
