I did not want to spend a lot of money without really knowing what I needed. It is perfect for a first purchase. easy to setup, does not fall. Used it only to take steady shots of dark skies. Perfect for this use.
As this is a lower end tripod, I expected basic as I will not use all that much. I really started loving it after I set it up and used it. The controls for adjusting head are very simple and work well. The construction is very good even though other reviewers had other opinions.
I only very occasionally need a tripod and, for the price, this one does a great job. Light and sturdy and comes with 2 quick-release plates. Perfect for my needs but I am sure there are better options for more serious users.
I bought this to use as a plein air travel easel. It comes with 2 quick release plates. A painting board or other easel can be attached to the quick release plates using a plate intended for a pochade box or a really cheap 1/4 inch T-Nut.
Seems sturdy and well-made, especially for the price. Easy to set up, good enough for the kind of photography I do. But bulkier than I expected. Got this to use for travel as well as low-light and other situations where I want to make sure my camera is steady.
I bought these tripods thinking they were going to be the same quality as the previous line of sunpak 2001ut models. However the new design and construction is cheaper and these tripods break very easily. They are not the same value for the money as the previous model.
I have been buying Sunpak tripods for years as a good inexpensive tripod for film minded and responsible high school students. Sunpak used to make this in a silver version with different leg construction and that product was great and sturdy, worked well for the purpose.
I love using my Sunpak tripod , it's easy carry and to use .
I thought this is light weight and easy to carry. But it has a lot of problems. First It's fold length is longer than I expected and it's very short. Lightweight, but very fragile. I have tripods from Magnus, Velbon and Slik. I've never seen one this shaky.
In the past, I was brought some cheaper tripod and works well, but this is unstable, and poor quality.
