Following our recent review of the Toshiba Canvio for Desktop, which proved to be popular with our readers, welcome to Myce’s review of the Toshiba Canvio Connect II USB 3.0 Hard Drive. The Canvio Connect II is available in capacities of 500GB, 1TB, 2TB, 2.5TB and 3TB.
Aside from speed, the Toshiba Canvio Connect II is a brilliant all-round package. It offers acres of space for your backups and media library, it’s cheap and it comes bundled with genuinely useful software.
Toshiba’s Canvio external hard disks are typically no-nonsense affairs that focus on value for money rather than outright performance or designer looks. The Canvio Connect II is no exception, but that’s not to say it’s ugly; the glossy plastic finish and circular activity LED are delightfully...
The hard drive worked ok for a couple of months and I transferred about 50 movies to it and two burn marks appeared in the drives face.(see image) I watched four or five of these and then it began freezing half way through a movie.
I ordered 2 in febuary 2016 and one just died.....wont stay connected for more than a few minutes. I only use it for time machine backs ups, so it mostly just sits on my desk.... Its DEAD no idea why. The other one is working great... so one good one dead..

You get a quality product for a reasonable price. Toshiba products are pretty good or at least, that has been my experience with their products.
Why in 2016 does anyone need to sell products that contain lead?!? There is no notice this contains lead until you open the package. This is going back!
I'm very satisfied with this hard drive. It's small enough to be handy, large enough capacity to be good for long term storage of movies and songs. I've already filled 1TB and am anticipating needing another one, but it's currently out-of-stock.
