If you're OK with its missing extras, and make sure to get the right model, Vizio's E series will reward you with the best budget TV picture quality yet.

The Vizio E series offers the best picture quality available in its price range, thanks to local dimming. The Google Cast system offers more apps and frequent updates than many dedicated smart-TV systems.

Many models in the series don't match the image quality of ones we reviewed. Roku TVs and other models with actual onscreen menus are more convenient for streaming apps. No built-in tuner on many models.

If you're looking to maximize your TV dollar and don't care about 4K, it's tough to go wrong with the Vizio E series.

The Vizio E series TVs with local dimming deliver very good picture quality for an affordable price. The image evinces deep black levels with little blooming, accurate color and great bright-room performance, and it provides for plenty of adjustments.

Dimmer highlights than some more expensive TVs; archaic software upgrade system; significant variation between models; poor sound quality; cheap-feeling remote.
This 4K TV is good for the price, but there is still very little 4K content out there. The LED back lighting is just ok. Edges still seem dim. The remote is almost useless. In order to control the picture and settings, you have to use an app on a tablet or smart phone. This is unfortunate.
I must say I am very happy with the TV. They could have done a better job with the design and function of the Remote. For the price I love this TV and I would recommend this TV to anyone that needs a Smartcast 70 inch TV.
I'm very happy with my new 70inch it fit perfectly over my fire place
I am not please with this TV. It's not user friendly. It would be nice to have TV guide asset and antenna connector.
Seems all my expectations really home theater experience
If I had known this was more a monitor than a television I would have never bought it. I never had to use a lot of memory on my phone since it is the remote for casting. There is no remote to purchase for this model. It's your phone only.
This thing is huge and the picture is awesome. I still have to fully figure out the SmartCast thingy, but don't actually think I will use it much. The basic remote let's me change inputs and control sound volume. That's about all I need to be honest.
The TV display is as advertised. However, the chrome cast feature requires a mobile device to use the smart TV functions. Altogether disappointed not realizing the inconvenience. I have an older version of same TV with all the apps built in & love it. Newer not always better?
No issues with the TV whatsoever! There are no apps on the TV so if you want to watch anything from an app it must be downloaded onto the smart device you are streaming from. The display is excellent. Setup was easy. Just wish I had faster internet...
