Vanguard 10x42 Spirit ED Binocular (Dark Green)

I chose these binoculars because they are mid-size, lightweight, and have an excellent field of view. I have used them now for about 2 months and I am pleased overall. I have carried and used them with a bino-harness all day and I didn't ever feel like they were too heavy or burdensome.

I was convinced by the many positive reviews that the price point for these binoculars belied its exceptional optical quality. I wouldn't even say the quality of these binoculars is good. They are extremely average. Actually, the binoculars I received had pitting and uneven coating over the lenses.

very good glass for the money. bought for both daughters as entry level hunting optics.

The only reason I am giving this 4 stars is because I haven't had the binocs long enough to rate thoroughly. First impression....unbelievably wonnderful! I paid more than I wanted to but I was tired of owning poor binocs. I can't believe the magnificaiton on these....

I'm not sure where all the gushing reviews about the optical clarity are coming from. The clarity is very middle-of-the-road and the chromatic aberration is not unnoticeable. It's not terribly pricey, but given it's performance I don't think it represents good value for money.
