The Whirlpool WTW5000DW is an energy efficient washer and it has been designed to be gentler on clothes.
If your old washing machine unexpectedly gave out and you're in the market for an affordable replacement, we would recommend prioritizing performance over features. Whirlpool's WTW5000DW is one of the best examples of a budget-friendly top loading washing machine without resorting to an...
Know that it only seems to calculate the amount of water needed at the very beginning of the cycle. If you add a lot more (like towels, etc. ) it won’t fill sufficiently. It’s also pretty noisy. That said I love that there is no central agitator for leggings, tank tops and bras to be entwined on.
So far so good. I’m glad to have a new modern washing machine. I wish it had a dispenser for detergent and fabric softener but at least there’s less things to break down. It washes the clothes well. The only other complaint I have is the loud clicking noise it makes when the door locks.
I have waited to review the machine until I had it for a while. I have had it for a month now and I really like it. It is the right size for my space and it works very well. I was worried about the reviews that said it didn't fill up with enough water but I have found that isn't a problem.
If you can tolerate the noise this machine makes, it will get your clothes clean. Without an agitator you can do a bigger load. Not sure if its using more water though, my bill did go up since I started using this machine. I'll have to check next months bill to be certain.

Noisy
Wanted to move away from the LG front loader I had and back to a top loader. This is very spacious inside and holds a lot and wash time is shorter than the LG. However, I and my drain pipes were not prepared for the major rush of water after the wash and rinse cycle which ended up with a shop vac to...
Just received the washer and matchin dryer (wgd5000dw). Did a few loads of wash and so far so good. My washer and dyer are in the basement so noise is not an issue. Tried a few of the settings and found quick wash works great on a standard load of clothes.

Noisy
The washer has performed to expectations and I love that agitator is very low profile enabling me to add large items without stuffing them into the sides. The footprint of the new washer seems very small compared to my older front load washer. The motor makes strange noises but who cares.
I bought this washer because it got 4.5 stars on Lowes.com. It washes my clothes just fine, but like all other HE washers, it seems to take forever. Also, it makes a mechanical grunting sound during the sensor wash. And every wash cycle includes the sensor wash.
This is my first new washer and dryer since January 1998 so I was expecting my top load washer to have an agitator. New washers don't have an agitator. And you have to put the detergent in before you add the items to be washed. And new washers make funny noises that I'm not used to.
Has done an outstanding job of getting the clothes clean. I like the feature that allows just the right amount of water for each load. Spin dry works well also. Would definitely recommend it.
