These are awesome, very easy to install. are solidly made and produce a great sound. Installed two of these in my screened in porch as a Zone 2, and am not dissapointed, the quality and volume on these is ample for outdoor entertainment. well done Yamaha, you cant go wrong with these.
Wasn't expecting much for this price range, but they did surprise me with their smooth, articulate sound quality that is not as boomy sounding as some others in this price. Small gripe, they need to come with better connectors that allow you to connect them with one hand while you hold the speaker...

Wire Connections
These are great outdoor speakers. I have 2 pairs that I use under my deck eaves and wired with 16g wire to Adcom GF-6 speaker selector and powered with an Adcom GSA-535 amp. They are easy to install and sound great. The mounting brackets are great for any angle and are simple to adjust.
Added these speakers to my screen porch and they where very easy to setup. Light so I had no problems get them mounted.

Weak Bass
The sound is great, nice bass response, no distortion that I noticed.
Large, and really lightweight. Great sound for our back porch. I tried them inside before mounting and did find the bass boost setting on our Yamaha receiver was helpful. All the range and sound quality I hoped we'd get with the slightly larger 294's vs 194's.
Can't go wrong with Yamaha! had them for a month and use them at least twice a week. They perform great, they are loud, and the sound quality is just amazing.
Bought these for my work shop, replacing an ancient truly excellent Cambridge SoundWorks Ensemble lV (two 3" satellites, subwoofer) They don't live up to CS, but it's not an apples to apples comparison. Like the Yamaha, but with the sale price only, bass is adequate, they're indoors though.
Wow! I love the speakers! I put two out front and you can hear them anywhere on my property.. Neighbors might not be so thrilled...
