If Yamaha’s aim was to create a full sounding, self-contained, slim sound bar solution at an accessible price, we’d say they pretty much nailed it on the head with the YAS-101. Though not without its limitations, we think this sound bar does more with one box than some solutions do with two and, at...

Substantial low bass for a small enclosure, Clean, controlled high frequencies, Univolume keeps loud ads at bay, One digital optical cable included

No analog audio input, Surround mode steals from fidelity, Mounting screws not included
The valley between most televisions' woeful onboard audio and the glory of a full-on 5.1-, 6.1-, or 7.1-channel audio system is a broad one indeed, and wending its way through the middle like some bittersweet creek is the much-maligned soundbar.

I picked up this item a few days ago, after reading the great reviews and noticing it was $100 off. It was one of the best technology related decisions I have ever made, and I won't go back to regular TV speakers. I never noticed how bad of a sound quality my TV is, until I plugged this bad boy in.

Easy to set up. Sleek and modern look makes it so it isn't an eye sore. Blends in well with the TV. Built in Sub woofer. Overall sound quality is awesome.

None that I can think of.
This soundbar has amazing sound quality! Yamaha has designed this product to achieve sound that truly surrounds you. The fact that a coaxial input is provided won me over. Also, the ability to add an external powered subwoofer, which can be controlled by the remote, is a plus.
This soundbar promises a very nice low-profile design but also providing good audio quality as well. First off, the design. This is one of the best looking sound bars out there, no matter what the price is. It’s a very glossy piano-black finish to it.
