The Zeiss Touit 2.8/50M lens produces fantastic macro images, but the lack of a focus limiter switch can slow down its autofocus speed.

Pricey. Lacks focus limiter switch. Electronic manual focus system. No optical stabilization. No full-frame coverage for Sony cameras.
While waiting for this lens to come out had been using a vintage Micro Nikkor 55/3.5 and a vintage Minolta Maxxum 100/f2.8. Both are fine lenses. But for my purpose of wildflower photography the Minolta is a bit long focal length to hand hold and heavy to tote, and the Micro Nikkor is hampered by...
I had high hopes for this lens and gave it to my wife for Christmas. Well, it is very good, but not amazing. We tested it from macro to portraits and not a single picture blew us away. We just got the Sony 90mm macro and it is amazing from macro to portraits.
only reason i got this lens that has with F22 with macro flash. I feel 10-20 time slower than recent AF motor technology. Sony new macro 50 mm does not have F22. I keep this lens .It is no choice However it works with slow AF. Picture quality is decent.
This lens is designed by Zeiss to pull the most resolution of the powerful sensors in the Sony brand E-mount cameras. I LOVE THIS LENS. I have shot with now for more than two week and it simply makes some beautiful images.
Very good magnification at close-ups! Sharp, lightweight and excellent quality made in Japan. Zeiss developed its smallest macro for APS-C sensors.
I have used the Touit 50mm f/2.8 to photograph flowers and trees in the gardens where I live. The conditions often range from deep shade with a ray of sunlight to broad sun and back to mixed and deep shade.
Both a Macro and a Portrait/Walk-around lens. Exquisit color and detail. Auto focus is fine - real close requires manual focus as with any macro lens. Zeiss does not disappoint. A bit expensive, but you get what you pay for.
You can't ask for a sharper lens than this. It's crystal clear, beautiful to look at and light weight. I use it for landscapes and portraits, as well as for macro shooting. It needs a focus limiter switch when shooting macro, which other reviewers have also noted, but it's not hard to work around...
I own 6 other Macro lenses and this is the best not only macro, but also other prime lens by far. It is exceedingly sharp at all distances and produces excellent and clear color. I can find no flaws with it.
